During an interview, Rear Admiral Patrick Nwatu, the Flag Officer Command of Naval Training Command Apapa, highlighted the importance of the Remembrance Day, emphasizing its role in sustaining the memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice for the defense of the nation.

Discussing the unpredictability of a soldier’s life, Nwatu underscored the challenges faced by service personnel, where their postings and duties are subject to the discretion of superior authority. Responding to concerns about the treatment of civilians by some members of the armed forces, Nwatu acknowledged the need for better civil-military relations.
