Nigerian Army, NSCDC Forge Collaborative Training Effort For Enhanced Performance

In a bid to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between security agencies, Major General Hassan Taiwo Dada, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA II, has pledged support to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) by facilitating the training and retraining of its officers.

The assurance was given during a courtesy visit to the GOC’s office by Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Solomon T. Iyamu fsi, in charge of Zone K Awka, covering Anambra and Enugu States, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Gen. Dada expressed his delight at the visit, emphasizing its significance in fostering a cooperative environment between the two agencies. He assured the NSCDC of his commitment to granting the necessary assistance to enhance their operational capacity, stressing that this collaboration would foster inter-agency synergy and contribute to crime prevention.

He also urged ACG Iyamu to propagate the message of collaboration among his subordinates, emphasizing the importance of cooperation over rivalry among security agencies to effectively combat crime.

In response, ACG Solomon Iyamu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed his readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Army to ensure a peaceful environment within their jurisdiction. He emphasized the importance of joint training, information sharing, and mutual cooperation between the NSCDC and the Nigerian Army in addressing security challenges.

The visit included discussions on various areas of mutual interest, including information sharing, joint training, and retraining of officers. ACG Iyamu was accompanied by other high-ranking NSCDC officials, including Comdt. Edwin Osuala, Comdt. Edwin Ugwuja, DCC Anthony Anyachebelu, DCC (Barr.) Chidi Nwibe, ACC AH Rogo, DSC Okadigbo Edwin, and ASC II Uche Enya.

The collaborative effort between the Nigerian Army and NSCDC aims to create a more unified and cooperative front in the fight against criminal activities and the protection of lives and national assets.
