In a recent meeting with the union members aimed at enhancing the safety of operators within Rivers State, CP Olatunji Disu pledged unwavering support to ensure their safety and security in the state. The group, led by Vice Chairman Nnamdi Esimai, expressed optimism in the new police management in Rivers State.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of collaboration in combating crime, CP Olatunji Disu urged Bolt drivers to actively provide valuable information to the police, enabling proactive measures to curb criminal activities across the state. He underscored that crime prevention is a collective responsibility that necessitates the active involvement of all stakeholders, not just law enforcement agencies.
Assuring an open-door policy, the Rivers Police Boss welcomed feedback and grievances from the union and the general public, ensuring prompt attention and redressal of concerns.
Vice Chairman Nnamdi Esimai highlighted challenges faced by some members of the union during their duties, citing encounters with unscrupulous individuals. He urged the CP to collaborate with the app-based transport management to upgrade their application, proposing the inclusion of the rider’s picture for easier identification in case of any criminal incidents involving the driver.
In a show of solidarity, the union pledged continued support to the Commissioner of Police in their collective effort to minimize crime in the state.
While fostering cooperation, CP Olatunji Disu issued a stern warning to criminal elements, cautioning them to desist from their unlawful activities or face the full consequences of the law.
